Sailor Jerry (https://sailorjerry.com/)
While working as Industrial Designer at Methods of Work, we were hired by Sailor Jerry Rum to design, and convert a 1971 Airstream trailer into a bar & tattoo shop as a promotional tool for their summer tour. We were given a lot of freedom in the design and fabrication process of the interior, while staying within the guidelines of their brand identity. Working alongside a team of two others, we completely tore apart and rebuilt the trailer over the course of three weeks.
The Airstream was packed with all original components, divided into three main sections: a full kitchen, a bathroom including bathtub and toilet, and a "living room." Once we completely gutted the interior, it was incredible how much space we had to work with. The new Interior was inspired by WWII Bomber Aircrafts mixed with Hawaiian Tiki style. We fabricated most of the contents of the interior ourselves, yet sourced and repurposed materials for the bar and seating. We wanted to maximize space for the individuals in the bar, yet optimize flow for the employees of both the bar and the fully functioning tattoo shop.
